Campaign Set in Motion with Kick-off Dinner

With cold and snow recalling conditions at the founding of the congregation in 1884, the Saint Luke faithful gathered for a Festival Eucharist marking the anniversary of the church's founding and committed themselves to providing physical facilities that will serve the ministries of the next generation.

A celebratory dinner in Memorial Hall featured messages from past Saint Luke Church chair, Jim Ryser, who returned to Chicago from his current home in North Carolina. Current church chair Karl Zorn and current Saint Luke Ministries chair Paul Heltne made the case for support of the Campaign for the Church/School/Cemetery/Housing Ministry that has both been home to many for over 125 years and will be a welcoming home for many more in the years to come.

The next generation then took the stage and, on Pastor Abrahamson's signal, brought down the balloons to officially launch the Campaign. As they left the hall, attendees received a packet with the Campaign Case Statement, an archival campaign brochure from a campaign undertaken in the early part of the last century and other materials relating to the Plan for Saint Luke. We are under way!
